First significant rain last night that we’ve had since November. Dry season finally over. Monsoons coming. Beats having dusty air brought by commercial construction across the Rawai beach road. Took these pics of the front and rear yard this morning. The barrels, urns, etc., are tropical fish tanks. About 300 and new babies constantly.
One pic is of my granddaughter taken at the beach across the street a few days ago. The trees with the large leaves are banana trees.
The banner photo above is Rawai beach and that shot was taken directly across the road. Lots of Thai longboats and Chinese tourist boats that transport Chinese tourists (pretty much exclusively) to the many islands offshore in the Andaman Sea. Rawai is the very southern point of Phuket Island with the Indian Ocean west and the Pacific Ocean east. Great place to write. I think I’ll start interviewing some ex-pats soon for a book on what drew them to Rawai.
